The Harnett County Public Library Children’s Department serves youth from birth through age 18. Our programs foster a love of reading and learning among the youth of our community. We serve to meet the dynamic needs of children and the challenges they face to prepare them for a better future. From storytimes, STEM programming and teen activities, to afterschool and homeschool programs, we have something for everyone!

We are so excited to announce our newest library service, Dial-A-Story! With this program, parents can call 910-814-6350 anytime of the day to let their children listen to a pre-recorded message of one of our librarians reading a storybook! The stories will be updated every few weeks and will feature different readers each time.
Did you know that you can access the library's electronic resources collection with your Student ID? Harnett County School students with a current Student ID number can use their number to login to services like NC Kids, BookFLIX, TumbleBooks, and more! Get started by visiting our Kids e-Library page.
